On the morning of April 20th, the signing of strategic cooperation agreement between State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company and Southwest Jiaotong University and the unveiling ceremony of the Research Institute of Transportation and Energy Integration were held at JTU Xipu campus. President Yang Dan of Southwest Jiaotong University, Professor Qian Qingquan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Vice President Pu Yun, General Manager Hu Haijian of State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company, Deputy General Manager Liu Yong, Deputy Chief Engineer Han Xiaoyan and other officials attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, Yang Dan delivered a speech on behalf of the school, looking forward to the vision of cooperation on the both sides. He expressed that State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company is the most important power grid construction, operation and power supply enterprise in Sichuan Province. It is the hub power grid connecting AC-DC hybrid operation of the four regional power grids in Northwest, Central, East and North China. The company has carried out a lot of innovative scientific researches and practices with the great achievements. For a long time, both sides have maintained close cooperation in the fields of personnel training, technical researches and development. At present, based on the new stage of our country, it is of great strategic significance for both sides to further deepen cooperation, strengthen cooperation, sign strategic cooperation agreement, and set up the Research Institute of Transportation and Energy Integration.
Hu Haijian expressed his gratitudes to Southwest Jiaotong University for its help and support to the construction and development of State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company for a long time, and praised the outstanding achievements made by SWJTU in rail transit and electrification engineering, especially highly affirmed Academician Qian Qingquan's contribution to the development of power grid. Then, with the development of State Grid Sichuan Electric Power Company, he pointed out that the two sides will focus on the national strategic target, jointly build the "transportation and Energy Integration Research Institute", promote collaborative innovation in the field of energy and transportation, promote green transportation and clean energy consumption, improve the construction level of school enterprise innovation platform, and further strengthen cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and achievement transformation, to jointly carry out scientific and technological research in the fields of interaction, operation control and protection of electrified transportation and urban power grid integration system, and develop key technologies leading the development of the industry.
