Recently, the winners of the 8th "National Railway Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award"were announced，which was carried out by the National Railway Youth League Committee, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Information Technology, the Ministry of Labour and Health of the United Nations Railway Group, the Sichuan-Tibet Railway Engineering Construction Command Office and the China Railway Society.

Three projects of the School of Electrical Engineering won the awards in the category of "Technological Innovation", namely the project of "Key Technology for Improving The Quality And Speed of High-speed Railway Contact Networks", the project of "Key Technology and Application for Precise Control of 20,000-ton Heavy-dutyTrains" , and the project of "Research on Fault Associated Characteristics and Fault Prevention of High-speed Railway Contact Network Components".
