On the morning of 11 July, the inauguration ceremony of SWJTU-ABB Joint Laboratory was held. Mr. Qi Luping, Head of ABB Motion Control Business Unit in China, Mr. Lu Xiaobin, Head of Marketing and Sales of Drives Business in China, Mr. Su Xiaojian, Head of Channels Business in China, Mr. Tang Zhongbin, Sales Manager of Southwest Region, Mr. Hu Shizhong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shanghai Yishen Science and Technology Co., Mr. Hu Jiayi, General Manager, Mr. Qiu Chunmao, Deputy General Manager, Mr. Zhou Yong, Deputy General Manager, Mr. Chen Chenmin, Project Manager, Prof. He Zhengyou, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Xie Shaofeng, Vice Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Associate Prof. Zhao Liping, Deputy Director of the Experimental Centre, Prof. Ge Xinglai, Deputy Director of the Department of Power Electronics and Electric Power Drives, Associate Prof. Yang Ping, Deputy Director of the Department of Power Electronics and Electric Power Drives, and Prof. Jiang Qilong, Head of the Joint Laboratory, attended the ceremony.
The joint laboratory is authorised by ABB, with the investment of nearly RMB4.5 million by Shanghai Yishen, and jointly built with the School of Electrical Engineering.
Dean He thanked ABB and Shanghai Yishen for their efforts in the process of building the laboratory, which provides an excellent experimental and practical platform for our students, and creates conditions for teachers and students to have access to advanced transmission and control equipments.
Mr. Chi Luping introduced ABB's global product distribution and management mode. He mentioned that the inauguration of the joint laboratory marks a solid step in the cooperation between ABB and SWJTU, and we will continue to provide technical and product support for the joint laboratory.
Mr Hu Jiayi, General Manager of Shanghai Yishen Technology Co., stated that industry-education integration is a close cooperation and exchange. Through in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises, students can be exposed to innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities earlier, laying a solid foundation for their future career development. At the same time, it can promote the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements, and promote technological innovation and industrial upgrading. Mr. Hu said that Southwest Jiaotong University plays a very important role in the rapid development of domestic and international rail transit, and hoped that the establishment of the joint laboratory can play an important role in cultivating talents for the construction of rail transit.
After the ceremony, the participants visited the SWJTU-ABB Joint Laboratory. Mr. Zhou Yong introduced in detail the construction of the laboratory and the functions of the platform.
The stablishment of SWJTU-ABB Joint Laboratory will further improve students' hands-on ability and innovation consciousness, and provide a better platform for students to participate in all kinds of science and innovation activities and disciplinary competitions, and to cultivate scientific research and innovation.
